The Three Little Strawberries: Friends in the Kitchen
One bright morning, Sunny, Bouncy, and Sassy were resting in their glass bowl by the kitchen window. The sunlight made their red seeds sparkle like tiny jewels. They were happy to be home after their forest picnic.
Suddenly, the kitchen door opened, and Chef Clara came in carrying a small basket. “Good morning, my little helpers!” she said with a smile. “I have some very special guests for you today.”
Sunny, Bouncy, and Sassy looked at each other with wide eyes. “Who is coming?” asked Sunny.
Chef Clara gently lifted the basket and set it on the counter. “Meet your new friends from the forest: Figgy the fig, Hazel the huckleberry, and Mossy the mulberry!”
The basket lid opened, and out rolled Figgy, Hazel, and Mossy. They looked around the bright kitchen with curious eyes.
“Wow! This place is so big and shiny!” said Hazel, looking at the shiny pots and pans.
Bouncy bounced up and down. “Welcome to our kitchen! We can’t wait to show you around.”
Sassy smiled and said, “There is so much to learn here. Let’s explore together!”
Chef Clara clapped her hands. “How about we start with a fun cooking project? We can make a fruit salad.”
The forest berries and the strawberries cheered happily.
Chef Clara brought out a big, clear bowl and placed it on the counter. She carefully washed all the berries she collected during her time in the forest and some other fruits from the kitchen. The little friends watched closely.
“Look at all the colors!” said Figgy. “Red, purple, green, and more.”
Sunny nodded. “Colors make food look fun and tasty.”
Chef Clara began to chop the fruits. She cut the apples into small pieces, peeled the bananas, and sliced the figs, huckleberries, mulberries, and strawberries into bite-sized bits.
The friends helped by rolling gently to the bowl and tipping their pieces inside.
“Teamwork is the best,” said Hazel.
Bouncy bounced happily. “I love working together!”
When all the fruit was in the bowl, Chef Clara picked up a spoon and mixed everything carefully.
“Now, let’s add a little honey to make it sweet,” she said. She drizzled golden honey over the fruit and stirred again.
The friends smelled the sweet, fresh scent. “It smells delicious!” said Mossy.
Chef Clara spooned the fruit salad into small cups for everyone. “Time to taste!” she said.
Sunny took a small bite and smiled. “Yummy! It tastes fresh and sweet.”
Hazel nodded. “The flavors are perfect together.”
After the fruit salad, Chef Clara showed the friends how to prepare simple smoothies. She poured fresh juice into the blender and added handfuls of berries.
“Let’s press the button and watch it blend!” said Bouncy excitedly.
The blender whirred and swirled, mixing the colorful fruits into a smooth drink.
Chef Clara poured the smoothies into tall glasses. “Cheers to new friends and tasty treats!”
Everyone sipped happily, feeling cool and refreshed.
Next, Chef Clara brought out some baking pans. “How about we bake some berry muffins? We can use all of you again.”
The friends cheered. Baking was a new adventure!
Chef Clara mixed flour, sugar, eggs, and a little milk in a big bowl. The strawberries and forest berries helped by rolling over to the counter and sharing their small pieces.
Sunny said, “I love how soft the muffin batter feels.”
Sassy nodded. “It’s like a fluffy cloud!”
Chef Clara spooned the batter into muffin tins and placed them in the oven.
While they waited, the friends talked about their favorite parts of the forest and the kitchen.
“I like the quiet sounds of the forest,” said Figgy. “The birds singing and leaves rustling.”
“I love the bright kitchen,” said Hazel. “There is always something cooking and warm smells.”
Mossy smiled. “Both places are special in their own way.”
Soon, the oven timer rang. Chef Clara carefully took out the golden muffins. They smelled sweet and fruity.
The friends decorated the muffins with whipped cream and fresh berries. Sunny added a sprinkle of cinnamon, and Bouncy placed a tiny mint leaf on top.
“Look at our beautiful muffins!” said Sassy proudly.
They all took a bite and smiled. The muffins were soft, sweet, and full of flavor.
As the day ended, Chef Clara cleaned the kitchen while the friends rested in the bowl.
“Thank you for visiting the kitchen,” said Sunny. “We learned so much today.”
Hazel yawned happily. “I can’t wait to tell our forest friends about this.”
Mossy smiled. “And I hope we can come back soon.”
Bouncy said, “Every day is better with friends.”
Chef Clara nodded. “You are all welcome anytime.”
The strawberries and their new friends felt happy and full. They knew that no matter where they were—in the forest or the kitchen—friendship and teamwork made every adventure special.
As the stars twinkled outside the window, the friends drifted to sleep, dreaming of the next fun day together.
