Three Little Strawberries: Game Day Fun

One sunny morning, Sunny, Bouncy, and Sassy woke up feeling excited. Today was Game Day in the kitchen! Chef Clara had planned lots of fun activities for all the fruit friends.

Sunny stretched and said, “I can’t wait to play and have fun with everyone!”

Bouncy bounced happily. “Me too! I love games and cheering for my friends.”

Sassy smiled. “Let’s get ready and show good sportsmanship, no matter who wins.”

Just then, Figgy, Hazel, and Mossy arrived from the forest. They smiled and waved. “We heard about Game Day! Can we join too?” asked Hazel.

“Of course!” said Sunny. “The more, the merrier!”

Chef Clara set up a small playing area on the kitchen table with colorful mats and soft balls made of fruit peel. “Welcome, everyone,” she said. “We’ll play three games today: Fruit Toss, Berry Balance, and the Kitchen Relay.”

The friends gathered around, eager to start.

Game 1: Fruit Toss

Chef Clara explained, “In Fruit Toss, you take turns tossing a soft ball into the basket. Each basket is a little farther than the last. The one who makes the most baskets wins.”

Sunny went first. She tossed the ball gently. “Swish! I made it in the first basket!”

Bouncy bounced next. He threw the ball with a big smile. “I got the second basket!”

Hazel carefully aimed and tossed. “I made the third basket!” she said with a big smile.

When it was Mossy’s turn, the ball bounced off the basket rim. “Oops! That was close,” he said, laughing.

Sassy cheered, “Great try, Mossy! It’s fun to play together.”

The game continued until everyone had a turn. No one got all the baskets, but everyone clapped and cheered for each other.

Game 2: Berry Balance

Next, Chef Clara brought out a small wooden spoon and a tiny berry for each player.

“In Berry Balance, you have to carry the berry on the spoon from one side of the table to the other without dropping it,” she said.

Figgy went first. She carefully walked, holding the spoon steady. “Almost there!” she said.

Bouncy bounced slowly, concentrating hard. “Steady, steady…”

Suddenly, Hazel’s berry wobbled and fell off the spoon. “Oh no!” she exclaimed.

Sunny smiled, “Good try, Hazel! It’s okay, we all drop the berry sometimes.”

Hazel laughed and picked up her berry. “I’ll try again!”

Everyone took turns, some berries fell, some made it all the way. But all cheered and encouraged each other.

Game 3: Kitchen Relay

For the last game, Chef Clara set up a relay race. “You’ll pass the soft ball to the next player while moving around the table. The team that finishes first wins.”

The friends split into two teams: Sunny, Hazel, and Mossy on one team; Bouncy, Sassy, and Figgy on the other.

“Ready, set, go!” shouted Chef Clara.

Sunny ran carefully and passed the ball to Hazel. Hazel passed to Mossy, who almost dropped it but caught it just in time.

On the other team, Bouncy bounced fast and passed to Sassy, who handed it to Figgy.

Both teams moved quickly, laughing and cheering.

At the finish line, both teams arrived almost at the same time.

Chef Clara smiled, “What a close race! You all did great.”

Sunny said, “It doesn’t matter who wins. Playing together is the best part.”

Hazel nodded. “Yes, and helping each other makes the games more fun.”

Mossy smiled, “Good sportsmanship means we all win.”

Chef Clara gave each friend a small sticker shaped like a star. “You all earned this for playing with kindness and teamwork.”

The friends gathered in the bowl, feeling happy and full of joy.

Bouncy said, “I love Game Day! Can we do this every week?”

Sassy smiled, “Yes, and we’ll always remember to be good friends first.”

As the sun set outside the kitchen window, the friends rested, dreaming of the next fun day together.
